Aphrodite, Godess of Love

Aphrodite ("Afros" is Greek for "foam of the sea") emerged naked from the foam and stepped ashore

In the sculpture Aphrodite, the torso of a beautiful young woman becomes the container for a story about male and female energy, birth, love and pleasure.

Here on the back of the sculpture, the theme, 'everything has their back to the female', is played out with stories about Aphrodite's birth, her acceptance of only male-female couplings, and a contemplation on pleasure and the complications of love.
